I never thought I'd say this, but sometimes it can be good idea to take a cue from that sitting prezdent up in them thar oval office and play stoopit. Ignore the "courtesy ('you're late, you owe us $116 just for being late') notice" paperwork that comes through in the mail. Police stations are (rightfully) open at all hours, and at particularly quiet ones like the Sunset Taraval Station on 24th, they don't mind signing off on your fix-it ticket when you visit at 10 o'clock in the evening. Take said signed ticket to the Hall of Justice, stand in line, ignore the mad rantings of the extraordinarily grumpy door guard. Show your signed ticket to the clerk, do not, I repeat, do not volunteer receipt of "courtesy notice." Pay your $10 ticket fee, pay your $10 parking pound o' flesh, drive off, and voila -- $100 saved! posted by claudine |Added at 1:18 PM| | personal
