Hotel des Arts
Nora & I went to Painted Rooms 2.0 at Hotel des Arts on Thursday night. We were a little taken aback by the person at the door who demanded, "Who are you here with? Who invited you?" but we were eventually let upstairs once it was ascertained we weren't some random hoboes off the street with designs to wreak damage ...

dmaon soule -- my favourite of the bunch we saw, though it seems I missed the Brian Barneclo room (see petalum's fotolog pic) and I don't think they had any of the 1.0 rooms -- Sam Flores, Apex -- open for viewing that evening...
I did get to see some beautiful sam flores paintings, tho...
another cool room, but for some reason I was a little hesitant about snapping pix...
mirror project action -- nora & me... If you looked at this pic in isolation you'd think it might have been from one of the decrepit abandoned buildings we've been visitin lately, much less a boutique hotel.
some more brian barneclo
some Apex paintings... only $400 for each panel, i think
As Petalum mentioned, small, small rooms indeed. But a nice concept, and a chance to stay in a different kind of hotel in the heart of downtown with some great art on the walls... $60/ night. I wonder if people will get a chance to request "the Damon Soule room, please..."
