About a week ago I posted this picture in Simulacrum to address the theme "Sadness." As predicted, it sparked some discussion. One of the comments I received: What is really sad is the fact that the liberal media refuses to cover the GREAT things that our soliders are doing over in Iraq. When we will ever learn to support our troops? What they did was surreal, but the majority of our troops over there are doing great things and THAT is what we should focus on. It made me think of this little gem by the geniuses behind Fafblog: "But Fafnir I do not want to read about torture" you say because you are a lazy whining person. "I want to read about gumdrops an rainbows and Presidents who are made of gumdrops an rainbows an use them to blow up the terrorists." The (mighty) Fafblog is my new favourite satirical blog, and I will be forever grateful to Professor Froomkin for highlighting it. I do like living in my bubble, but every so often one needs to be reminded that one too, can be as blind as the the first commenter above, in wanting to believe that everyone is as outraged as I. posted by claudine |Added at 11:31 AM| | politics, photographs, new blogs
