"He was a patron of terrorism," "He had long established ties with al Qaeda." Of course Cheney didn't offer up any evidence as substantiation for those claims, and the remarks came as part of a summation of "Bush successes" (oxymoron, I know...) in the speech. There is "no credible evidence" that Saddam Hussein's government in Iraq collaborated with the al Qaeda terrorist network on any attacks on the United States, according to a new staff report released this morning by the commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. These assholes truly believe that as long as they continue to repeat over and over, their lies and distortions and perversions of reality, that their deaf, dumb and blind supporters will unequivocally accept their statements as truth. Indeed, as late as April of this year, a survey found that a majority of people still believed in the Iraq-9/11-Al Qaeda-WMD tie, despite the testimonies of David Kay, Richard Clarke, Hans Blix, et al ... that's so freaking frightening.
